The Senior RD Engineer participates and occasionally leads the design and development of software products and supporting systems
In this role, the Senior RD Engineer will use expertise to execute and help in developing strategic plans, refine requirements and provide technical mastery in achieving development objectives
This position is targeted to build and execute expert solutions including incubating new product ideas along synthesis, reasoning, completion, and verification of systems using advanced concepts of systems thinking

Knowledge of MBSE will be advantageous

While electric vehicles, autonomy, man-unmanned flying machines are some of the target application domains, this initiative goes much beyond in terms of new requirement driven incubation of design ideas while exploiting prior knowledge of cyber-physical-system design and analysis

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Participates, contributes and occasionally leads planning, architecture, or research at a project level

Coordinates product design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design and solver research. Acts as a technical reference within a group or product team

Executes / follows, develops, and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring

Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support across multiple products. Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions, collaborating with the QA/support teams

Researches and understands the customer requirements for products, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years experience, MS with 3 years experience, or PhD with 1 years experience

Significant commercial experience with e.g. software design and development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with e.g. C#, numerical analysis, cloud technologies, web development, object-oriented design, software configuration management, Machine learning and related technologies, data structures and algorithms

Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment

Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior members
